Civil/Structural Engineers
Engineers are required to address issues beyond normal UK engineering practices across a broad spectrum of civil and structural engineering skill areas such as; earthquake engineering, impact loading, the consideration of extreme environmental hazards, the design of containment structures for nuclear materials, the design of infrastructure provisions such as water supply and drainage within a nuclear environment, assessing and extending the life of aging structures, and establishing and implementing decommissioning and demolition strategies. Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, these positions are at all levels. Ideally you will have a civil / structural background gained in nuclear, chemical, or heavy industrial environment. De-commissioning / demolition, or civil infrastructure experience would be advantageous.
Civil / Structural / Building Engineers - Management of Civil Infrastructure
Civil Engineers and Building Engineers are central in teams involved in the full life cycle of infrastructure asset management. Your role will be to manage the building stock and civil engineering infrastructure of a nuclear site that is in size equivalent to that of a medium sized town. You will provide a key link in safe operations, plan long term development, manage capital expenditure, act as client for design and construction and ensure effective inspection and maintenance of the building stock and civil engineering asset to satisfy operational and regulator demands.
Qualified to degree level in Civil/Structural Engineering or a Building professional, you will be of Chartered Status or working towards it. Ideally with a background of asset management gained in nuclear, chemical, or heavy industrial environment and civil infrastructure experience, you will have effective management ability.
Building and Civil Maintenance Engineers
Building and Civil Maintenance Engineers are an integral part of teams involved in the full life cycle of asset care. Working within the operational support teams, this role provides the organizational and technical skills to maintain a well managed building and civil engineering asset, and involves overseeing a maintenance and inspection program, arranging for the implementation of maintenance and remedial works, inspecting and accepting remediation works and working with site wide teams to develop asset improvement plans.
With a minimum of HNC in a relevant subject, you will ideally have a civil / building background in nuclear, chemical, or heavy industrial environment with relevant experience including inspection and maintenance of building and civil engineering assets.
